Zhou Dongyu is the new face of Victoria's Secret in China
23 Apr – Movie darling Zhou Dongyu has been appointed as the new face of Victoria's Secret in China.
As reported on WWD, the actress, known for her girl-next-door appeal in movies like "Soul Mate" and "Better Days", was chosen in the brand's effort to raise its popularity in China, after past controversies and allegations of cultural appropriation.
Speaking about being a part of a sexy brand like Victoria's Secret, Zhou said, "In my definition, being sexy is a comfortable and nonconforming natural state."
"When I first entered the business, everyone felt that I was inconspicuous. I also felt very sad at that time, yes, but then slowly I proved myself through my own efforts, living hard every day, studying hard, loving myself. Slowly I felt that I really feel sexy from the inside out," she added.
Aside from Victoria's Secret, Zhou is also the spokesperson for another international brand, Burberry.
