"Zhen Huan" cast to star in "Half Moon Legend"

6 Sep – It was revealed that the producers of the hit Chinese period drama "The Legend of Zhen Huan" will be producing another series called "Half Moon Legend".

As reported on Oriental Daily News, the new series, to be helmed by "Zhen Huan" director Zhen Xiaolong, will star Betty Sun, who played the titular character in the 2011 most popular series.

She will be joined by Hong Kong actor Alex Fong, whose latest Chinese drama "Divorce Lawyers" has become one of 2014 hit TV series to date.

Allegedly, "Half Moon Legend", which is based on the popular novel by Jiang Shengnan about the legendary life of Regent Dowager Empress Xuan, who ruled for 41 years during the Qin Dynasty, will also be joined by the original cast of "The Legend of Zhen Huan" in hopes to achieve similar success to the previous series.

The series will begin filming this month.
