Zhao Tao honoured to be nominated at Golden Horse Awards

23 Oct – Chinese actress Zhao Tao recently admitted that she is honoured to be nominated in the Best Actress category at the upcoming Golden Horse Awards.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who is nominated for her role in the Jia Zhangke film "Ash is the Purest White", shared that the nomination is a great encouragement for her.

"It is also a very important event. This platform allows me to exchange ideas with fellow actors and filmmakers alike and learn from each other. Winning an award is just a bonus," she said.

As to whether her husband, who also directed the movie, will be accompanying her to the awards, Zhao replied, "He has a work arrangement. I also have to look at my schedule."

Zhao will be facing tough competition from other top actresses including Sun Li ("Shadow") and Zhou Xun ("Last Letter").

This is not the first Best Actress nomination for Zhao. She was nominated in 2015 for her role in "Mountains May Depart".
