Zhang Ziyi's new movie to premiere at Cannes
15 Apr - The Zhang Ziyi-starrer, "She's Got No Name" is set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
The movie, previously titled "Murder of the Husband", will be screening out of competition at the upcoming festival, which celebrates the resurgence of Chinese cinema several years after its slow return from the pandemic.
The movie has also released its first official poster, which sees Zhang's character standing in front of a building, wearing a red scarf.
Adapted from one of the four most mysterious cases in China called "The Case of Killing Husband in Jiangyuan", the Peter Chan movie stars Zhang as a woman named Zhan Zhou, whose suffering became the catalyst for women's social rights in China.
In a previous interview, Peter Chan told the media that Zhang had always been the only choice to play the protagonist of the film, and that the production had started even before Zhang gave birth to her second child back in 2020.
