Zhang Ziyi admits parents were disapproving of Wang Feng
12 Mar – Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi recently opened up about her marriage with Wang Feng, saying that her parents were not supportive of her tying the knot with the rock star in the past.
As reported on HK01, the actress, who spoke about the issue during an episode of the reality show, "Viva La Romance 2", stated that her parents were not keen on having Wang as their son-in-law when she first told them about him as the singer was already divorced and have multiple children.
"Back then, I didn't get along with my family, and I didn't even dare speak about him to them," she said.
if Zhang thought back then that they would be okay with it once they are married, she was wrong.
Recalling an incident when he and Zhang stumbled upon her parents in an elevator, Wang said, "It was very awkward, but also very hard to find things to say. All the time we were in the elevator, I was hoping that time would pass by faster."
He added that Zhang's mother didn't even want people to mention his name.
However, the singer eventually won their approval by proving himself worthy of being their son-in-law. He stated that they would often invite them to vacations and help Zhang's parents whenever he could.
