Zanilia Zhao's film to compete in Tokyo
27 Sep - It's another milestone for Zanilia Zhao, whose upcoming movie, "The Unseen Sister" is set to premiere and compete at the 37th Tokyo International Film Festival.
As reported on Sohu, the movie, helmed by Midi Z and adapted from the web novel, "Da Qiao Xiao Qiao", tells the story of two estranged sisters, one a star actress, who meet again after many years bearing hidden secrets.
It co-stars Xin Zhilei as the elder sister.
The film will be making its international premiere at the Tokyo International Film Festival alongside another Chinese movie, "Daughter's Daughter", starring Sylvia Chang. It is also shortlisted for the main competition.
Zanilia also took to social media to express her elation over the film's festival debut, referring to her character as she wrote on Weibo, "Qiao Yan said: See you then."
The 37th Tokyo International Film Festival will be running from 28 October to 6 November.
