Zahnita Wilson files for divorce amid domestic violence claims
4 Dec - Zahnita Wilson recently revealed that she is filing for divorce from her husband, Abdul Zackery Ghouse, following reports that he has now been remanded by the police to assist in the investigation of allegations of domestic violence.
On 4 December, the model and former actress stated that she has made the decision after no longer able to endure the physical abuse against her.
"My strength to file for divorce today came from Allah, with the support from my mother. It is her prayer that accompanies me today," she said, as she arrived at the Shariah Lower Court in Kuantan.
The 38-year-old also stated that she is also grateful that her husband has been remanded as she can now move freely without worrying whether he will do something to her.
"I was afraid to go anywhere before because I was worried he would hurt me. I am so moved by everybody's support, including the police," she added.
Zahnita also denied the claim made by her husband that she was hit after being adamant about leaving the house.
"I can't speak in detail about it, except that he was violent towards me after I asked him about something," she said.
Meanwhile, Zahnita has now removed all photos from her social media account, leaving only a video of her wearing a hoodie with the words "Keep Calm and Eat Zahnita's Humble Pie" printed across it, as she enjoyed Rod Stewart's "Have I Told You Lately."
