Yumiko Cheng rejoices in daughter's health

20 Jan - Hong Kong singer Yumiko Cheng recently rejoiced in the fact that daughter Avery, whom she calls Tsam Tsam, is now fully recovered from her disease.

The singer, who gave birth to her first daughter back in April 2015, has been frequently visiting the hospital when the doctor found out that Avery was suffering from shortness of breath.

She was later diagnosed with pleural effusion – a condition in which excess fluid builds around the lung.

Although Avery has been doing better since then, she has always been on medication.

However, according to Apple Daily, on 19 January, the singer revealed that Avery is now free from medication.

"Good girl, Tsam Tsam. You have finally beaten this battle after nine long months. Remember to thank all the doctors and nurses at the Eastern Hospital."

In a telephone interview later on, Yumiko confirmed the news, saying that her daughter is now off medication.

"Actually, I have been worried about her heart instead of her lungs. But the doctor said that her heart has no problem. I am glad that she is finally healthy," said Yumiko.
