29 Jun - Yuki Kashiwagi's camp recently revealed that the singer has successfully undergone her surgery.

As reported on Epoch Times, the singer's agency issued an announcement through its official website on 28 June, saying that the AKB48 member went under the knife for seven hours for her condition on 25 June, and was revealed to have had a successful operation.

It also indicated that Yuki has started to recover and is able to walk a little bit, and that the company will fully support her rehabilitation.

"We hope that everyone can give support and encouragement to her," they said, adding that the singer will continue with several proceeding stages of her recovery.

It was earlier this month that Yuki was diagnosed with syringomyelia, a disorder in which a cyst or cavity forms within the spinal cord, after the singer underwent a medical check-up as part of a medical TV programme called, "Clinic Where You Can Meet the Doctor".

On 22 June, Yuki went on Twitter to announce her social media hiatus, saying that she will be focussing on her surgery and subsequent rehabilitation.
