Yuen Woo-ping designs various action scenes in "Master Z"

17 Oct – Although "Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy" is described as a spin-off of the hit franchise, director Yuen Woo-ping stressed that the movie will be different from its predecessors, especially when it comes to the action scenes.

As reported on ZJK Online, the director, who spoke to the media at the press conference held at the Busan International Film Festival recently, shared that he never choreographed the same action scenes for all of his movies.

"Choreographing action scene is a type of artistic expression. It requires aesthetics and the power of expression. Each action has different designs. It is not fighting for the sake of fighting," he said.

Yuen said that every single aspect of filming such a scene is important, that a good angle will produce the best impact for the audience.

He also revealed that each actor got their own special stunt design in the movie.

"For example, Michelle Yeoh looks better when she fights with weapons, so I added a fight scene between her and Max Zhang that involves some weapons. Dave Bautista is good at wrestling, so I added wrestling elements to his fights," he said.

The upcoming movie is set to be released sometime this year.
