Keiko Kitagawa might be Japan’s “most beautiful female celebrity”, but she’s not alone at the top of the rankings, according to Japanese readers.

Actor Masaki Suda, 24, topped the ranking of readers’ current favourite handsome male artiste in a questionnaire launched by Japanese fashion magazine, ViVi.

“Finally, the first! It is a delightful thing to be first in everything,” said the actor, who has had lead roles this recently in “Death Note: Light Up The New World” and“Teiichi: Battle of Supreme High”.

“Honestly, this is out of my expectations. I have not actually played a handsome character before either,” he said.

Suda is currently very active in TV dramas like “Pretty Proofreader”, and movies such “Kiseki: Sobito of That Day”. He also appeared in shows like “Assassination Classroom” last year.

Suda won GQ Men of the Year Award last year. His acting skills are also well-acknowledged, having received Rookie of the Year Award in the 37th Japan Academy Prize in 2014.

He will also be making a CD debut in June.

In the ranking, Suda clinched first place with 6,245 points, about 400 points more than second-place Taishi Nakagawa, who had a lead role in the live-action adaptation of “ReLIFE”.

Model and actor Kentaro Sakaguchi came in third place, followed by Takanori Iwata in the fourth and Tomohisa Yamashita in the fifth.

Alan Shirahama, Hiroomi Tosaka, Takeuchi Ryoma, Sota Fukushi and Shuhei Nomura also made it into the Top 10 respectively.
