With Chinese New Year happening in less than a months' time — on 22 January, to be exact — are you wondering how the new year will be for your zodiac?

As 2023 is the year of the Water Rabbit, the five zodiacs known to fan tai sui (be in conflict with the deity Tai Sui, or Grand Duke) are the Rat, Rabbit, Dragon, Horse and Rooster.

But it's not all doom and gloom if you're born under those signs, as there are still things to look forward to.

Read on for some predictions by MZX Fengshui Mastery’s Master Alvin Sai, a Singaporean Feng Shui Master with more than 17 years of experience.

RABBIT (born in 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999)

As the titular zodiac sign of the year 2023, Rabbits need to be a bit more careful as inauspicious stars are surrounding them.

Although there are many hardships and obstacles in their career, Rabbits can still be in control. Master Sai urged that proper financial planning is a must for Rabbits to prevent losses.

Rabbits have to work on their communication to resolve family conflicts. Master Sai encouraged couples in a stable relationship to have their weddings this year.

To maintain a healthy body and good mental health, Rabbits should exercise more.

DRAGON (born in 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000)

2023 is great news for the Dragons as many auspicious stars are aligned. With all these blessings, Dragons will have a smooth year to look forward to. With good planning, Dragons will succeed easily and reach their goals.

Although wealth luck is good, Master Sai pointed out that Dragons cannot let greed misguide them. Dragons should avoid impulsive investments which may result in losses.

For the Dragons, 2023 is a good year for marriage and for the singles to find a partner for life.

However, they have to keep an eye on their diet and health and curb overindulgence.

SNAKE (born in 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001)

Snakes have to be patient in 2023 as it will bring them slow career growth, which can easily cause financial problems if they are hasty.

For the Snakes, Master Sai predicted that there are two groups of people in their teams who are against each other and they will never come to a consensus on just one goal. Thus, this kind of situation may affect their performance. Snakes may also face some pressure from the work front and overseas jobs can complicate colleague relationships.

Snakes will have ideal wealth luck, but they must practise prudence and should not gamble or invest without doing due diligence.

Snakes should be careful with new friends in 2023. Married couples may fight over small things and there is a possible dispute with new neighbours.

HORSE (born in 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990)

For the Horses, the stars will align next year, bringing luck and solving problems.

According to Master Sai, the benefactor luck of Horses is strong and can help take their businesses to a higher level, perhaps even to international standards. Horses will also have a chance to get a promotion at work. For those switching careers, it is best to maintain good relationships in a new environment.

In 2023, Horses will have average wealth luck. They should curb any overspending and opt to save for rainy days and avoid risky investments. Horses will have good property luck but it depends on whether their finances allow for it — don’t jump in on a whim or a tip which could not be trusted, said Master Sai.

Master Sai also urged Horses to watch out for love scams.

GOAT (born in 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991)

For the year 2023, Master Sai advised Goats, who are curious by nature, to follow proper steps and management to ensure they are safe from any financial losses and legal disputes. They must be careful with any legal documentation.

To be appreciated by your boss and colleagues, Goats should take the chance to showcase their talents. Their career will have a great turning point.

Couples have to work on their communication to maintain their good relationship.

For good health, Goats need to maintain their body. Master Sai encouraged them to drink more water, watch their diet and work out often. It is also advisable to donate blood.

MONKEY (born in 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004)

With their magnetic personality and benefactor luck, Monkeys will see their business grow with help and support from the right people in 2023. They can also consider doing more charity next year to help to remedy any potential unexpected financial losses.

Master Sai foresaw an opportunity for an overseas assignment for Monkeys next year. For those looking to advance their career and development, this is a good chance to improve their skills.

Wealth luck is good but Master Sai said Monkeys cannot be overconfident and overspend. They should also try to steer clear of gambling and manage their finances properly.

Couples will expect a new member to the family next year, alongside many opportunities for joyful events in the family.

To avoid chronic diseases, 2023 is a good time for Monkeys to book a thorough health screening.

ROOSTER (born in 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005)

2023 will require Roosters, as ambitious as they are, to lay low as this year clashes with the Grand Duke. They will need to be careful with dealings and try to not rush into any decisions. Roosters should also keep a low profile and be cautious of their words and actions.

Master Sai warned that if Roosters act impulsively, their career and wealth luck can be affected. Conflicts may also arise from differing opinions. Gambling and investing are not advisable for Roosters as well.

In terms of relationships, both male and female Roosters who are entering new love relationships are prone to the involvement of a third party.

Roosters should check on the health of the seniors in their families.

Master Sai suggested that one way for Roosters to appease the clash with the Grand Duke is to do more good deeds and charity. They should also make it a point to have more celebratory and joyous events.

DOG (born in 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006)

Dogs will see a peaceful and smooth year in 2023.

For the Dogs, the business may be rocky at the start of the year due to last year's issues, but benefactors will help them overcome it. Master Sai also predicted chances for promotions and pay raises.

Overall, Dogs will have better money luck next year.

For those who are already in long-term and stable relationships, 2023 is ideal for marriage. Married couples should consider conceiving as well. There will also be peace and harmony in the family, said Master Sai.

Dogs should pay attention to their health and watch what they eat to avoid any relapse of an old illness.

PIG (born in 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007)

For the year 2023, Master Sai advised Pigs to rule with a positive mind instead of emotion. Being driven by matters of the heart may make them lose motivation to strive ahead.

Pigs should constantly take the opportunity to learn and enhance their skills so as to grow in their career.

They should also avoid impulsiveness and be clear on their financial management to avoid falling into any debt.

Master Sai said that there is a potential dispute in families over emotions and personal issues. Pigs should stay vigilant and keep an open mind in order to tackle any challenges ahead.

To prevent any potential injuries, Pigs should be careful of sharp-edge items.

RAT (born in 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996)

For those born in the year of the Rat, 2023 looks to be a good one, with many auspicious stars, according to Master Sai.

Those looking to move forward in their career could see benefactors coming to help them progress fast, and those who plan well and engage the right persons will thrive.

Rats can also look forward to having extremely good wealth luck next year, but Master Sai warned that they will need to control their spending.

Meanwhile, single Rats will have chances to get attached, and it's also a good year to have kids, with many joyful occasions in 2023.

OX (born in 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997)

Oxen must be careful for the upcoming year as inauspicious stars are shining on them.

Master Sai advised that upgrading skills and knowledge will help when challenges arise. To prevent misjudgement, Oxen should do more research on investments.

Oxen should also be cautious about making friends as they may affect the future. Couples have to work on their communication to resolve any misunderstandings.

In terms of health, Oxen should go for regular health check-ups and rest more this year.

TIGER (born in 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998)

Tiger's benefactor star shines strong in 2023, as help will always be there whenever they are faced with obstacles.

For those hoping for a promotion in their career, keeping a positive and energetic attitude will increase their chances. Tigers will also have a smooth and steady flow of wealth next year, but Master Sai warned that there is still a need to have good financial management.

Singles will easily find their partners, while wedding bells will ring this year for those who are already in a relationship.

Tigers should take note of their diet. Master Sai also advised that Tigers should not overwork and should rest more.
