Ye Ke threatens legal action against slander
24 Sep - Chinese influencer and entrepreneur Ye Ke is threatening legal action against slanderers following news of her relationship with Huang Xiaoming.
As reported on Mingpao, it all started when a post made by a social media user named "Ye Ni" went viral for congratulating Ye Ke on her new relationship, saying, "After five years of hard work, you're finally getting married!"
The "five years" comment sparked speculation that Ye Ke and Huang have been together even during his marriage with Angelababy.
It also sparked other similar rumours about her, which prompted Ye Ke to finally take action, as she expressed on Weibo, "First of all, I don't know this person "Ye Ni" at all. Now there are more and more people pretending to be my friends and best friends on the Internet, thus spreading rumours and slandering me."
Ye Ke said that while Huang is keeping calm despite being troubled by the rumours, she believes that she has to say something as some people have even started spreading private information about her and her family.
"Some netizens should not think that they can escape the punishment of the law. Your parents will also tell you how to be a law-abiding citizen. We have entrusted a law firm to pay attention to online developments and prosecute serious defamatory remarks spread on the Internet. It is everyone's responsibility to maintain the online environment," she added.
