Yara Shahidi's curly braid pony is the perfect summer hairstyle
Yara Shadidi's latest hairstyle has just gone to the top of my 'to-try' list. It may just be my style of the summer. The actor's curly braid pony is the answer to a hair problem that I can't be the only one to have had. I've always wanted to try these type of braids, also know as goddess braids. The issue is, I also know how tangled they can get and how much more care and protection they need than a simple box braid.
Well well well, Yara's curly braid pony, could be my perfect alternative. The look was created by hairstylist Rio Sreedharan for the feast for the eyes that was the Dior show in Mumbai.
Her classic slick ponytail bursts into the cutest lengthy tendrils of undone boho-style braiding with those distinctive leave-out curls and tendrils down the lengths of the braids, the ends, and even among. And while it's a style that will only last a couple of days max, it looks soooo much more manageable than a full set of boho braids.
The slicked portion is softened with Yara's baby hairs in gentle sweeping edges and adorable spiral ringlets and tendrils left out at the front, mirroring the undone texture of the braid pony.
The look was worn with a glowy, golden natural base, nude two-tone lip, and a smokey deep pink eye that ties to the jewel toned pinks and purples of Yara's jacket. It was the work of mastermind Nikki Makeup, and sweet lord swipe to that second shot. I can't.
10s all round. These three have ganged up to take me out at this point. I can't cope.
