Yang Mi finds peace through Buddhism teachings

23 Jul - Chinese actress Yang Mi admitted recently that she uses the teachings of Buddhism to cope with the stressful life as a celebrity.

As reported on Tencent, the actress who sat down for an interview recently, shared that she is no stranger to rumours and controversies, having joined showbiz since she was a teenager.

She was accused of undergoing plastic surgery when she became popular, accused of cheating on Hawick Lau and filing for divorce after they tied the knot, and was also criticised when she rarely returns to Hong Kong to see her own daughter, Noemie.

Yang stated that she began turning to the teachings of Buddhism in order to find inner peace.

"I began reading Khenpo Sodargye's books. I learned to understand the views of Buddhism and to apply it to life," she said.

Khenpo Sodargye is one of the most eminent Buddhist masters and scholars of the modern era. He is renowned for his interest in the integration of traditional Buddhist teachings with global issues and modern life through his writings, including the "Treasure of Wisdom and Compassion", "Treasure of Sutra and Tantra", and "Treasure of Supreme Dharma" series.

On the other hand, in response to allegations that she has been neglecting her child, Yang said that she has actually started slowing her work down in order to spend more time with her family.
