Yang Mi didn't need a ceremony to leave Jay Walk Studio
12 Jul – Yang Mi recently admitted that she really didn't need the pomp and circumstance when it comes to leaving Jay Walk Studio.
In a recent interview, the actress, who announced her departure from the company that she had been with for more than a decade, stated that the process of her leaving was actually long, but that nobody saw it.
"What you see is just one of the nods. I was very busy and didn't pay much attention to it. Sometimes the bigger the occasion is, the less the need for a sense of ceremony to emphasise it," she added.
It was back in May that she surprised many with her announcement of departure, as she shared a simple post on Weibo that read, "Share the past, each have the future."
Jay Walk later released a statement that read, "For more than ten years, we have been in the same boat through thick and thin, and we have grown together. We are grateful. I wish you all the best in the future."
It is noted that Yang was one of the founders of the studio, which is a collaboration with H&R Century Pictures. The studio was established in 2012 and manages stars like Dilraba Dilmurat, Vengo Gao, Wayne Liu, Bambi Zhu, and Zhou Keyu.
