Yang Mi's new movie to premiere at TIFF

22 Aug – Yang Mi's upcoming new movie, "Baby" ("Bao Bei Er") has been selected as part of the Special Presentations segment of the upcoming Toronto Film Festival.

As reported on Epoch Times, the movie, which co-stars Guo Jingfei and Taiwanese actor Lee Hong-Chi, tells the story of a woman - once abandoned by her parents due to genetic disorder - trying to save a child facing the similar situation.

Directed by Liu Jie, the movie is produced by award-winning filmmaker Hou Hsiao-hsien ("The Assassin", "Millennium Mambo").

Yang Mi is expected to walk the red carpet at the event alongside her co-stars.

Other movies joining the festival this year include Jia Zhangke's "Ash is the Purest White", and the Tang Wei-starrer, "Long Day's Journey into Night".

The upcoming Toronto International Film Festival will be held from 6 to 16 September.
