'90s kids, we need to have a screamfest right about now. Disney+ announced it is producing a sequel to the forever iconic Hocus Pocus, which means Hocus Pocus 2 is officially coming to a (TV) screen near you!!

I know, I know. We didn't think this day would actually arrive either. And as a bonus, there are already Sanderson sisters details out in the universe, including a trailer, general plot-line, and release date, so it’s high time I share them with you.

Here’s what we know so far about Hocus Pocus 2.

The movie is coming to Disney+ this month!

More specifically, it’s coming on September 30, which means it’ll be here just in time for spooky season. And yes, it already looks like it’ll be well worth the wait!

Oh—and the original cast is back!!

Get your witches’ capes ready, because our original dynamic Sanderson sisters are all coming back for the new installment of the series. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy all made the Hocus Pocus 2 announcement on their respective IG accounts, and you can bet their followers went absolutely berserk.

Also, can we just appreciate how on brand the actors’ captions are? Especially Kathy’s. Already giving fans the ~spooky vibes~.

For Disney+ Day, our favorite witches got together for a first-look pic that features them back in their costumes, and they look just as spooky as in the original.

And the biggest surprise of them all? Doug Jones is back as Billy, and he looks just the same (which is the best thing for a zombie). Think he’d share his skincare secret?

...well, *most* of the original cast, anyway.

In an October 2021 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Vinessa Shaw (who played Allison in the OG movie) revealed that she hasn’t been asked back yet and didn't seem to think she'd be part of the sequel at all.

“I haven’t heard anything,” she explained. “I know, it’s so disappointing. I would love to do the sequel. It would be so much fun. I think there’s just a different storyline with younger people, but why can’t we all come back in some way?”

The movie takes place in modern times.

The Hollywood Reporter gave details on what the sequel will be about, and the premise is just as darkly comedic as the first movie. According to the production, three young women find themselves accidentally summoning the Sanderson sisters to modern-day Salem. Just like the first movie’s protagonists, the new trio has to stop the witches from wreaking havoc, this time in the 21st century.

Director Anne Fletcher told THR that she’s thrilled to be bringing the iconic witches back to their fans’ lives. “We should be laughing every day, and there is so much fun to be had with these three unbelievable women playing delicious characters from such a beloved film,” Fletcher said. “I am so grateful to be able to play a part in bringing these witches back to life, and to be working with my friends at Disney again makes it all the more special. This is a movie for everyone, from the fans who grew up with the first film to the next generation of viewers, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Can it get any more Hocus Pocus-y than this? Personally, I’d love to see Winifred try to operate Tinder from an iPhone….

And there are tons of new cast members.

The film features some brand-new characters, including some who accidentally summon our witches back to Salem.

Gossip Girl star Whitney Peak plays Becca, an aspiring witch who discovers that you can get your powers on your 16th birthday and lights a mysterious candle that brings serious consequences.

Belissa Escobedo is Izzy, Becca’s best friend who also accidentally summons the Sanderson sisters and helps her BFF in getting rid of them.

Hannah Waddingham, known for playing Rebecca in Ted Lasso, is playing a mysterious character known only as The Witch. Based off the trailer, she seems to have had a strong connection with the Sanderson sisters when they were younger.

Lilia Buckingham is Cassie Traske, Becca and Izzy’s best friend who gets caught up with them again after the Sanderson sisters run amok on the town.

Sam Richardson plays Gilbert, the owner of the Olde Salem Magic Shoppe who loves anything spooky and has been the keeper of the Sanderson sisters’ black candle and spell book.

Tony Hale is Jefry Traske, Cassie’s dad and also the mayor of Salem.

There are several trailers already.

A teaser trailer was revealed back in June 2022 and gave us a small glimpse of what brought our favorite witches back. And yes, it totally involves that black flame candle:

The official trailer was released at D23 and it looks just as perfect as you’d hope. The Sanderson sisters are running around Salem and now Becca and Izzy have to find a way to get rid of them.
