Meet Rizmo, the singing and dancing toy by TOMY, which topped The Toy Retailers Association DreamToys list that predicts which toys will sell-out this Christmas.

And FYI, it’s already out of stock online at John Lewis.

Rizmo, which is a combination of Rhythm Monster, is the first-ever ‘evolving toy’ that listens, learns and remembers.

Full of personality, the half-alien, half-owl (which is suitable for ages 4+ and available in three colours: berry, aqua and snow) has to be looked after through touch, motion and sound in order to grow.

The fuzzy friend starts off as a baby and slowly evolves the more it’s played with. There are five play modes to complete, which include speaking, sleep rocking, make music and singing.

Plus, once fully grown, there are also two completely new modes to unlock, so the fun doesn’t need to end.

It’s the modern day version of a Furby and a Tamagotchi. However, unlike the rather annoying and loud furry friend of the 90s, there is a way to reduce Rizmo’s noise level, meaning no need to hide it in the airing cupboard.

Overall it should teach your child responsibility, as well as being an interactive toy to keep them entertained well into the New Year.
