Xu Kai lodges police report over AIDS rumour
23 Feb – First, it was Wang Yibo. And now another mainland actor Xu Kai has also taken a step to counter the AIDS rumours.
Recently, rumours went viral on mainland social media platforms that a male star born in 1995 has been diagnosed with AIDS and is now receiving treatment in Beijing. The rumour stated that the male star slept with two foreign models, who turned out to have the immunodeficiency syndrome.
As reported on Oriental Daily, 28-year old Xu Kai was revealed to have lodged a complaint to the Hengdian Police Station of the Dongyang Municipal Public Security Bureau, following allegations that he might be the said male artiste who has contracted AIDS.
His management company has also released a statement slamming the rumour, saying, "This rumour-mongering and defamation act has seriously violated the reputation rights of our artiste Mr. Xu Kai. In this regard, our company will seriously pursue legal action against relevant parties who publish and disseminate the defamatory remarks."
The response is similar to Wang Yibo's camp, Yuehua Entertainment, which had earlier stressed that they will not tolerate such false allegations against their artiste.
