'X-Men' and 'Fantastic Four' could join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in early 2019
It sounds like the planned convergence of the X-Men and the Fantastic Four into the Marvel Cinematic Universe is on course, and could be happening much sooner than we thought.
Kevin Fiege, the boss of the MCU for Disney, has said that things are looking âvery, very goodâ for the merger of the comic book worlds.
As it stands, X-Men movies, Fantastic Four movies and Deadpool movies are produced by the Fox studio.
But with the upcoming merger between Fox and Disney, the home of Iron Man, The Avengers, Thor and the gang, weâll likely soon see the crossovers on screen. Soon being key word.
âWeâve been told itâs looking very, very good and could happen in the first six months of next year,â he told Variety.
âThe notion of the characters coming back is great.
âBut in terms of actually thinking about it and actually planning things, we havenât started that yet.
âItâs nice when a company that created all these characters can have access to all those characters. It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity. There shouldnât be two Marvels.â
So that Deadpool meets Thor movie weâve always wanted to happen could be closer than ever.
âExcelsior!â as the late Stan Lee might have said.
