Wu then expressed his gratitude to girlfriend Ivy Shao, saying, "I thank her for her companionship and tolerance over the years, and for tolerating my attempts and wilfulness in the role. I went fat and thin and it is not healthy. I am sorry to make you worry. I will start to pay attention to my health. I wish everyone a smooth filming."

The judges' comment on Wu's performance went: "Through a relaxed and teasing performance style, he successfully interpreted the journey of an eldest son of a family returning to his world. In the seemingly crazy love and hatred, he still firmly held on to the deep sorrow. Wu Kang-ren's changeable acting skills once again renewed everyone's imagination."
