Wong Cho Lam couldn't wait to start TVB work
22 Jan – Wong Cho Lam recently expressed his gratitude to TVB for appointing him as the new Chief Creative Officer at the company.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who spoke to the media following news that he and producer Eric Tsang will be returning to the company as senior management executives, stated that he hopes to do his best in the job for the sake of the company and the Hong Kong audience.
"I would like to thank Eric Tsang for giving me a lot of tips when I started to develop in the mainland. I've developed well outside for the past ten years, and I hope to open up a bigger market for more TVB new artistes," he said.
Wong also revealed that through his work in mainland China in recent years, he has been developing more understanding on the operating methods of many new digital platforms, and in the process, learned about the top production teams in different parts of the world, including South Korea, the United States and Japan.
"I hope to bring back all this knowledge to TVB and strengthen the programme and cross-platform creation, especially now that the 55th anniversary of TVB is approaching. It needs more serious thinking and preparation, and I hope to bring more positive energy and innovative entertainment to Hong Kong audiences," he said.
Wong also added that he has been preparing for preliminary work and would return to Hong Kong as soon as possible after completing the work on hand.
"I hope to meet up with colleagues from TVB as soon as possible," he added.
Wong, who started his career in TVB starring and writing series such as "Come On, Cousin" and "Inbound Troubles", has been working actively in mainland China in recent years, starring in variety shows like "Happy Camp", "Keep Running", and "Ace vs Ace". He also hosts Hunan TV's "World's Got Talent".
