The Golden Corral Buffet & Grill restaurant is closed amid the global coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, in Downey, Calif.

When Tayvia Woodfork and her family visited the Golden Corral restaurant in North Little Rock, Arkansas, on May 4, they never expected the extraordinary turn their day would take.

During the meal, Tayvia’s mother, Tameka Woodfork, shared that her daughter began complaining about stomach pain and excused herself from the table to go to the bathroom.

But after 10 anxious minutes, Tayvia's mother went to check on her, only to find her in distress, crying from more than just cramps.

"I didn't know what was happening," Tayvia told Today, sharing that they quickly called for medical assistance.

“I said, ‘We have to go to the hospital,’ but she couldn’t move her legs, so we ended up calling 911," Tameka said.

Unbeknownst to Tayvia, she was 37 weeks pregnant and in labor, experiencing what's known as a cryptic pregnancy, which, according to the Cleveland Clinic, is where the person is unaware they're pregnant.

Tayvia revealed that before that day, she hadn’t experienced any symptoms, including weight gain or feeling fetal movement.

“There were no signs,” Tameka said. “We had no idea.”

Shortly after the paramedics arrived, Tayvia gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Tamaar Kylon Corral Woodfork, weighing 6 lbs., 1 oz.

“They were still trying to figure out what was going on when she goes, ‘It’s out! It’s out!' " Tameka recalled. “The baby was in the toilet.”

By the time Tayvia, who's also a mom to son Taylon, 2, gave birth, patrons at the restaurant had become aware of the unusual situation. Some even suggested she name the baby “Golden,” although Tayvia preferred the name Corral.

"When we walked out, everybody was clapping and people were lined up to see," Tameka told Today.

Not long after, Golden Corral shared the news across its social media, naming the newborn the restaurant’s “youngest fan.” They also gifted the family a box of baby essentials and a Golden Corral gift card.

“As surprised as our team was at the news of a baby being born at our restaurant, we are truly honored to play such a momentous role in little Tamaar’s life," a Golden Corral spokesperson told Today in a statement.

"But no honor compares to having Tamaar carry on the ‘Golden Corral’ brand name in his own name, Tamaar Kylon Corral Woodfork!"
