Wolverine 3 Will Take Place In The Future

Even though ‘Wolverine 3′ is now less than a year away, the film is yet to enter production. In fact, other than speculation, we really don’t have too much concrete information regarding Hugh Jackman’s farewell as the character.

But things are now becoming a bit clearer. Especially with the revelation from producer Simon Kinberg that ‘Wolverine 3′ will indeed be set in the future, way ahead of any other ‘X-Men’ film.

Kinberg made this revelation to CinemaBlend, simply uttering, “’The Wolverine’ movie takes place in the future.”

This is inline with all of the previous rumours that we’ve heard about the blockbuster, which have teased that ‘Wolverine 3′ will revolve around the comic book series ‘Old Man Logan’.

This eight issue arc is set fifty years in the future where villains control the US and sees Wolverine travelling across the United States and coming face to face with numerous other X-Men and Marvel characters.

Obviously because 20th Century Fox don’t own the rights to certain Marvel characters the likes of Hulk, Red Skull, and Hawkeye won’t feature.

Instead, ‘Wolverine 3′ will include Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, as well as, allegedly, Liev Schreiber’s Sabretooth, while Boyd Holdbrook has been cast as the head of security of a global enterprise that are against Logan.

Hopefully there will be a few more X-Men related surprises in ‘Wolverine 3′, which will finally be in cinemas on March 3, 2017.
