Clean beauty is a term coined by the beauty industry in response to consumers' needs in wanting products made without harmful products. This is especially important for beauty lovers like me, who have sensitive skin and are prone to outbreaks every now and then.
What are the rules of clean beauty?
To help you understand harmful products even better, the FDA banned 11 harmful ingredients used in cosmetics - among them mercury, formaldehyde, parabens, phthalates, heavy metals - while in the EU, over 1,300 ingredients are banned.
In a nutshell, even 'clean beauty' isn't entirely free of chemicals as even natural ingredients are made of chemicals. We should continue to pay attention to the ingredients in beauty products and educate ourselves in the long run.
