The Wedding Story Of Indian Cricketer Suresh Raina And Priyanka Chaudhary
The star batsman of the Indian cricket team, Suresh Raina, married his lady love, Priyanka Chaudhary, on April 3, 2015. Raina and Priyanka have been childhood friends, and a private wedding in Delhi, tied these buddies together in the sacred knot.

The beautiful bride hails from Baraut, Uttar Pradesh. She is an IT professional with a bank in Netherlands. As per various reports, she did B.Tech from an engineering college in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Several reports also suggest that Priyanka might leave her job to stay in India after marriage.

The couple’s love story
Although the couple knew each other since childhood, they were hardly in touch after Priyanka’s family shifted base to Punjab. And, the cricketer talked about the same in an interview with Times of India, and said,
"I have known Priyanka for long, but in the middle, I didn't have time to be in touch with her. I remember meeting her at the airport for five minutes in 2008. She was flying back to Holland and I was going to Bangalore for an IPL game, and we met at the Delhi airport for just five minutes. Usse pehle main usse bachpan mein mila tha. Priyanka's father was my sports teacher in Ghaziabad and my mom was very close to her mother. I'll call it more of an arranged marriage because our families have known each other for a long time."
The match-fixing
Yes you read it right! The match was fixed by the parents of these two. The marriage was fixed while Raina was away in Australia for four months, for the cricket world cup. His mother arranged the whole thing with Priyanka’s family. In the same interview, Raina talked about how this marriage was arranged by their parents:
"I was in Australia for the last five months. Mamma ne sab fix kiya hai. I didn't know. Mom called me in Australia and told me that my marriage has been fixed with one of my childhood friends. Maine kaha kaun hai. Then I spoke to Priyanka on the phone.”

Engagement ceremony
The pre-wedding ceremonies started for this couple on April 1, 2015. The two got engaged and it was a low-key affair that took place at the cricketer's Ghaziabad residence. Raina looked dapper in a white kurta teamed up with red jacket. Here are a few glimpses from the day:

Raina's friend and famous restaurateur, Priyank Sukhija, hosted a bachelor party for him at his own venture, Lutyens Cocktail House, in New Delhi, on April 2, 2015. The cricketer's friends seemed like having a gala time. Among the celebrity guests at this event, Bollywood actor, Arjun Rampal, was spotted at the do. Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, Suresh Raina is a die-hard fan of kababs and biryani. So, how was it possible to host his wedding without some Lakhnavi flavours? The ace cricketer visits Tunday Kababi, in Lucknow, every time he visits home. So, he decided to call a team of khansamas from there, to make his wedding menu a luscious one. Apart from the obvious Tunday kababs, they also served delectable mutton biryani, mutton korma and galawat kababs, which rightly tickled the taste buds of the esteemed guests.

A starry affair
Raina’s wedding was a star-studded affair with a lot of guests from cricket, politics as well as the glam world. The high-profile wedding welcomed Indian skipper MS Dhoni along with his wife Sakshi, Virender Sehwag and his wife Aarti, ICC Chairman N Srinivasan, and a lot more from the cricket fraternity. From Bollywood, there were Anupam Kher and Zarine Khan, among others. Political world was seen at Raina’s wedding with Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav, and MP Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia, in attendance. Honeymoon plans
Suresh Raina had already mentioned that they will not have much time for each other right after marriage. The dedicated cricketer will get pitch-busy with the IPL preparations. At the same time, he wants Priyanka to focus on her career, so she will soon fly back to the Netherlands after the wedding. They have planned to fly to Milan post IPL, for their honeymoon.
