What is Wear Blue Day, celebrated on the Friday before Father’s Day?

Wear Blue Day is celebrated on the Friday of Men’s Health Week, which ends with Father’s Day on Sunday. Created by Men’s Health Network, Wear Blue Day raises awareness about the importance of male health and encourages men to live longer and healthier lives.
This includes making healthy lifestyle choices, making regular annual visits to the doctor, getting educated on heart disease or diabetes, and starting general health conversations with their male friends.
This year, Wear Blue Day falls on 17 June. A way to celebrate the day is creating awareness on social media by stressing the importance of checkups. As men bury themselves in work and home life, they tend to ignore their health or choose not to talk about it. Having regular checkups is key to staying healthy and alive.
Another way is to hold seminars or webinars to provide education on various men’s health issues, such as testicular cancer and prostate cancer. As these health issues are discussed more widely, early detection or even prevention can help to improve their quality of life significantly.
