It's the end of an era. After wrapping up his third and final Wolverine movie after originally starring in the role of the mutant in 2000, Hugh Jackman has announced via Instagram and Twitter that he is losing the iconic sideburns once and for all.

While the actor captions the clip, "My wife is going to be very happy," fans of the franchise might be less than thrilled seeing the metal-clawed star saying goodbye to his chops in the video. The short clip shows Jackman's facial hair, which is already significantly trimmed down from his Wolverine days, as he shaves it even closer. The 47-year-old, who is sporting a black shirt and close-cropped hair in the video, added the hashtags #GoodbyeChops and #thedebs.

My wife is going to be very happy. #GoodbyeChops #thedebs

If you're already missing those Wolverine sideburns, you can get a glimpse of them in Wolverine 3 when the film hits theaters in March 2017.
