Wang Po-chieh sentenced to two months in prison for DUI

6 Sep - Taiwanese actor Wang Po-chieh has been sentenced to two months in prison following his DUI arrest in June.

As reported on Epoch Times, after a month of trial, on 4 September, the Shilin District Court issued a summary judgment, sentencing the actor to the aforementioned prison time, which can be commuted to a fine of NTD 60,000.

It is noted that the sentencing can be appealed by Wang.

Wang had since responded via his agent, saying that he will learn the lesson from his mistake and reflect deeply.

Back on 18 June, Wang was reported to have collided with a tour bus while driving girlfriend Nikki Hsieh's car to a pet grooming shop.

No one was injured in the accident, though the police who arrived at the scene found that Wang's blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit of 0.15mg in Taiwan.
