Wang Leehom dedicates "Forever Your Dad" to friend with ALS

30 Mar - Wang Leehom recently revealed that his song, "Forever Your Dad" was actually dedicated to his high school friend, Dave who has been diagnosed with ALS.

As reported on Epoch Times, the singer-songwriter, who opened up about the inspiration behind the new song that was released in late February, stated that he and Dave have been close since they met in high school in New York and remained friends until today.

Leehom said that he was surprised when Dave recently told him that he has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

The disease, he said, would cause all the senses and movements of the body to weaken over time with fatal consequences.

"It made me very sad. My old friend and his wife have been raising three beautiful kids. They have a very happy family. Will the illness destroy it all?" said Wang.

Frustrated that he couldn't do anything for his friend, Wang - who is a father of two daughters - decided to write the said song in dedication to Dave.

He also revealed that proceeds from the single will be donated to support ALS research.
