Wang Kai demands apology from Huading Awards

3 May - Chinese actor Wang Kai has recently dismissed rumours saying that he had pulled some strings to earn himself a nomination in the Best Leading Actor category at the upcoming 19th Huading Awards.

As reported on Liberty Times News, the actor, who found himself entangled in a controversy after it was announced that he has been nominated in the aforementioned category for his role in "The Disguiser" – despite the fact that it was Hu Ge who played the lead, recently responded via his manager, Miss Hu, regarding the issue.

Miss Hu stressed that Wang knows that he is not the lead actor and that neither he nor his agency, Daylight Entertainment, has done anything to warrant a nomination in the category.

The company has also released a statement on 30 April, demanding an apology from the awards organiser for the unnecessary controversy it had imposed on Wang.

They also stressed that the actor will not participate in the event or even accept the award should he win it, if the organiser failed to rectify the situation.
