Evoni Williams, a waitress at a Texas Waffle House, has gone viral for helping customer Adrien Charpentier cut up his meal. The interaction was photographed by another diner, Laura Wolf, who uploaded the photo to Facebook.

"I don't know her name but I heard this elderly man tell her his hands don't work too good. He was also on oxygen and struggling to breathe," Wold began the post. "Without hesitation, she took his plate and began cutting up his ham. This may seem small but to him, I'm sure it was huge."

She ended with, "I'm thankful to have seen this act of kindness and caring at the start of my day while everything in this world seems so negative. If we could all be like this waitress & take time to offer a helping hand...."

Well, the post quickly went viral, racking up 65,000 shares. So many, in fact, that it caught the eye of the town's mayor, Bobby Hocking, who dedicated March 8 in Williams' honor.

"This is probably more of a lifestyle of Evoni," Mayor Bobby Hocking said. "Because she does this from her heart. It just so happens somebody got a picture of this one time of many."

Best part: When Texas Southern University learned of Williams' good deed, they offered her a $16,000 scholarship along with the aid of a counselor to help her enroll at the university!

I'm full on crying. Sometimes good things happen to good people and the entire world isn't garbage.
