The Voice to have Singapore/Malaysia edition

Aspiring singers can now rejoice as the popular reality television singing competition The Voice will soon be having a Singapore/Malaysia edition!

Singapore's mm2 Entertainment, a wholly owned subsidiary of mm2 Asia, has recently came into agreement with licensor Talpa Global to gain the rights to produce and broadcast the show which is famous for its bling auditions format, The Straits Times reports.

"Given the strong historical and cultural bond between the two countries, the Singapore/Malaysia version is a great way to extend this iconic format to this part of the world," said Melvin Ang, Chief Executive Officer of mm2 Asia.

"Through the show, we're also looking to unearth fresh acting and singing talents for our diverse range of movies and entertainment platforms," he continued.

This will be the first time in the show's history that a single version of the format will be produced for two territories.

Details on the mentors for the upcoming Singapore/Malaysia version of The Voice is yet to be announced, but the show will be in mandarin language.
