Vivienna Lai apologises to Lesley Chiang for Mother's Day blunder

9 May – Vivienna Lai recently revealed that she has actually apologised to singer Lesley Chiang, after having previously made the blunder of asking the latter about her Mother's Day celebration.

As reported on HK01, the TV personality was blasted by many recently, after she inquired Lesley the aforementioned question, not knowing about the fact that the singer was estranged to her mother Thelma, who left the family when she was a child. At the same time, it is also known that Thelma had died in 2016.

However, Lesley gracefully responded that she will be celebrating the day with dad Paul Chun, whom she said is both a mother and a father to her.

Following the backlash, Vivienna shared a screenshot of her message to Lesley, where she apologised for her mistake.

Lesley's response read, "Omg, don't be silly! You did nothing wrong, you were perfectly nice. Don't say sorry! Let's just all focus on loving ourselves and positive things!"

Vivienna wrote, "Forgive my inadequacies. I was definitely not trying to be disrespectful. A special apology to Lesley and those who are affected. Thank you, Lesley, for your support. It was so heartwarming. I will keep working hard and do better next time."
