Vivian Dawson denies chasing after Jolin Tsai's wealth

21 Dec - Vivian Dawson has recently clarified a previous statement regarding his relationship with Taiwanese diva, Jolin Tsai.

As reported on SETN News, previously, the model-actor was asked about his future plans with the singer, whom he has been dating for the last six years.

Dawson reportedly responded that according to his understanding, there are three conditions that should be met where marriage is concerned - that the couple should not take off their wedding rings, the woman should take her husband's family name, and that the husband and wife must have an equal share in property.

He stated that marriage is for a lifetime and shouldn't be agreed upon in haste. He also added that that he hopes to one day have his own child, but what with his busy schedule now, he wouldn't be able to be a fully responsible father.

Jolin's fans who read the article quickly blasted the actor, saying that he is still living 'in the old times' and that he might be chasing after Jolin's money.

However, Dawson's camp recently clarified the situation, saying that due to the actor's poor proficiency in the Chinese language, his opinion was misconstrued by the media.

His rep stressed that what Dawson meant was that he often hear about Chinese people's common property system, and that he felt that such an idea is absurd.

Dawson, said his rep, believes that a husband or wife doesn't necessarily need to have joint property, and that personal properties should be individually owned.
