Vin Diesel welcomes another wrestler to "Fast and Furious" family

Is Vin Diesel replacing The Rock with another fellow wrestler-turned-actor?

‏‏29 Apr - The post was captioned "Thank you Pablo" and Vin Diesel was talking mostly about his late co-star Paul Walker who played the role, but it was the revelation at the end that really got the comments section heating up.

"Guys, as you know, I'm always thinking fast, and thinking about the responsibility of making something iconic and deserving of your loyalty," said Diesel in the video he posted on Instagram over the weekend.

"I know this sounds crazy, but every blue moon I feel like Pablo up there sends me someone. Another soldier in the fight for truth. Today, someone came by Toretto Gym that speaks to what Pablo would have brought."

That "someone" didn't say much, when the camera panned to him, all he did was his iconic "can't see me" wave and ended his intro with a wink.

That's right, Vin Diesel has revealed that John Cena is now part of the "Fast and Furious" family.

John Cena won't be phoning this in, he's going to nail the strong, cool guy role.

While the video didn't offer any other info like the role Cena will be playing or which movie he will be in specifically, fans are speculating he could be a replacement for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Not that he will take over The Rock's Luke Hobbs character, fans are just thinking that he might have been brought in to play a character similar to his fellow wrestler-turned-actor's role in the franchise. Someone big and burly that can coolly do any stunts that would require immense strength.

This speculation comes about since The Rock is reportedly not going to be in the ninth instalment of the franchise, due to the feud that started with Tyrese Gibson's staunch objection against having a spinoff focused on Hobbs and Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw.

As everyone knows, that spinoff is still happening despite all that as "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw" will be racing onto the big screen this August.

Whether Cena is a replacement or not, fans are largely just excited that he is now part of the franchise.

Most likely he will be seen in 2020's "Fast and Furious 9", as the movie is currently filming and his character could be slipped in during production.

Cena is moving to blockbuster territory after starring in last year's "Bumblebee". Recently, he's also been reported to be in talks to play Peacemaker in Warner Bros.' DCEU, a role Dave Bautista passed on due to scheduling issues.

If you haven't seen the video Vin Diesel posted, here you go. Wave to Cena – if you can see him.
