Veteran star Susanna Au-Yeung passes away


11 Jul - Veteran actress Susanna Au-Yeung has recently passed away.

The news was confirmed by her actor husband, Samuel Kwok Fung, who said that Susannah passed away in the afternoon of 9 July at the Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital, according to On CC.

Kwok said that Susanna suffered a stroke back in April, and had undergone three operations since then.

She was also diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma, which was discovered by the doctors during the third operation.

"There was no medication that could cure her, and it led to this unfortunate ending. I am very saddened by it," he said.

Susanna, known for her role in the 1983 TVB adaptation of "The Return of the Condor Heroes", started her career in the '60s, and joined the Hong Kong broadcaster in 1978.

Among her many popular dramas were "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly", "Chor Lau Heung", "The Bund", and "The Passenger".

She was 63.
