Veteran actor Yutaka Takenouchi has the face most Japanese men want to have

Last week, Oricon Japan’s survey revealed that Japanese women found that actress Keiko Kitagawa has the most ideal face. Another survey for the male counterpart had been carried out as well at the end of October, with responses from some 500 males aged between 10 and 60. Interestingly, topping the chart is Yutaka Takenouchi, a 49-year-old actor known for his role as the National Security Advisor in Shin Godzilla (2016).

1. Yutaka Takenouchi

This marks the second time Takenouchi achieved the top position since 2018’s ranking. Turning 50 next January, the veteran actor is regarded as the handsome uncle in Japan. Truly, his voters described his looks as “manly”, “cool” and even admired the fact that Takenouchi looked good with a moustache and beard. Even as he aged, the masculine actor seemed to possess an unchanging attractiveness.

3. Hiroshi Tamaki

Taking the third position is yet another manly actor, Hiroshi Tamaki, who had been portraying badass characters in his recent works: revenge drama Path Of The Dragons, and The Way Of The Househusband, in which Tamaki stars as a retired yakuza (the equivalent of triads in Japan). These left an impression on his voters who described him as “cool”, “wild” and even said Tamaki has the “sex appeal of a dandy”. To top it off, Tamaki once reduced his body fat percentage to five per cent for a role, upon which a fan commented, “Life can’t be bad if you can have a face like this with five per cent body fat!”

The following Japanese male celebrities also made it into the top 10 owing to their unique traits:
