No longer is it enough to don devil horns or a lick of faux blood to pass as making an effort for Halloween. Every year the spooky season grows in competition, as we try to outdo one another with never-before-done pop culture references and Insta-worthy get-ups.

So what better way to reflect the zeitgeist than dressing as the most terrifying social media phenomenon of them all? The influencer.

Urban Outfitters is selling the divisive outfit ahead of this Halloween and it comes complete with the all-too-familiar tools needed to complete the look.

For $59 (approximately £45), the starter pack consists of a grey crop top, high-waisted leggings, chunky ‘dad’ trainers, a baseball cap and long blonde wig. According to the product description, the outfit will enable wearers to “channel Instagram style in this low key costume set worthy of a superstar influencer”. Enough said.

Unsurprisingly, social media users flocked to Twitter to mock the fashion brand’s latest venture.

One joked, “Does it come with 100k followers too?”, while another tweeted: “I’m holding out for a ‘sexy’ influencer Halloween costume.”

Others were quick to spot that the look seemingly references Paris Hilton‘s pap-ready attire when she ‘candidly’ modelled Kanye West‘s Yeezy season 6 line – the ultimate influencer power move.

So if you’re stuck for ideas this Halloween then look no further than Urban Outfitters for inspiration. If short of cash, borrowing from your younger sibling’s millennial wardrobe will do.

Just don’t forget to Instagram your #OOTD.
