TAP Air Portugal is making it easier to plan a getaway to Europe next year with three new flights from the United States, including one from Los Angeles for the first time.

The new flights will take off starting in May and fly between Boston and Porto, Los Angeles and Lisbon, and San Francisco and Terceira in the Azores, TAP shared with Travel + Leisure.

Carlos Antunes, TAP’s director for the Americas, said in a statement shared with T+L the airline was “tremendously excited” to launch the new flights, and added “all three new routes include our popular Portugal Stopover program where you can enjoy up to 10 days in Portugal en route to any of our destinations in Europe, or on the way home, for no additional airfare.”

Flights between Boston and Porto take off first on May 14, 2025. These flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays through Oct. 25 on an Airbus A321-LR aircraft.

Fares for this route start at $529 roundtrip when travelers book by Dec. 17.

Then on May 16, 2025, the carrier will launch flights between Los Angeles and Lisbon, flying the route on an Airbus A330-900 neo aircraft. The flight will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays through May 25, before TAP adds a fourth weekly flight on Saturdays through Oct. 25.

With the new flight, which starts at $679 roundtrip when booked by Dec. 17, Los Angeles will become the eighth gateway city in the United States for TAP.

Finally, the airline will commence between San Francisco and Terceira on June 3, 2025, operating that route weekly on Tuesdays through Aug. 26 on an Airbus A330-900 neo aircraft.

TAP Air Portugal is part of the Star Alliance — along with United Airlines — and currently flies from seven destinations in the U.S.: New York, Newark, Boston, Miami, Washington D.C., San Francisco, and Chicago.
