Tyshawn Jones’ Second Adidas Sneaker Adds Lightstrike Cushioning and a Two-Layer Toe Cap

Adidas has unveiled the second signature sneaker for pro skateboarder Tyshawn Jones.

The Adidas Tyshawn 2 maintains the DNA from its predecessor while adding Lightstrike foam for its midsole and featuring a dual-layered toe cap for durability. Lightstrike foam brings down the weight from the Tyshawn 1, which launched in 2019 with Adiprene cushioning, while an increase in perforations on the vamp increases breathability.

Reflective accents add a sense of flair, and Tyshawn’s own trefoil logo appears on the tongue and orange insole. Next to the Three Stripes at midfoot, “Tyshawn” appears in gold debossing in the style of several Adidas classics such as the Samba and Superstar.

For its debut, the Tyshawn 2 will release in a white, black and grey colorway featuring a four-tone outsole that uses those same colors and brown. Leather makes up the majority of the upper, save for suede paneling at midfoot beneath the eyestays and a mesh mustache. A second edition of the sneaker shown in campaign images deviates from black only in its gold branding and outsole rendered in green, red and two shades of brown.

Jones is a two time winner of Thrasher‘s “Skater of the Year” award, having won in 2018 at the age of 18 and again in 2022. In addition to Adidas, his sponsors include Supreme, King Skateboards, Spitfire and New Era.

The Adidas Tyshawn 2 will release June 1 through Adidas’ Confirmed app and stores, as well as select retailers. Pricing is set at $100.
