TVB actress Samantha Chuk passed away

3 Mar – TVB actress Samantha Chuk has recently passed away.

The news was revealed by TVB Entertainment News Facebook page on 2 March, stating that the actress and TV personality died at home in her sleep on 1 March, surrounded by her family.

Sources stated that Samantha had been battling lung cancer for two years, but decided not to reveal her condition, instead telling friends that she had been trying to lose weight when asked about her apparent weight loss.

Samantha began her career with TVB in 1990, a year after getting the fifth spot in the singing competition that was part of the variety show, "Enjoy Yourself Tonight".

She had since hosted many programmes and filmed many dramas and films, including playing a TV reporter in Stephen Chow's "God of Cookery".

The actress had starred in two more TVB dramas that have yet to air, including the Jeannie Chan-starrer, "Your Highness, the Hooligan".

She was 55.
