SINGAPORE – Are you tired of the standard festive menu? Some of these F&B restaurants and cafe are serving turkeys with a cultural twist. In addition to your traditional fixings for Christmas dinners like smoked salmon, trifle, roast potatoes and brussel sprouts, some chefs are adding all sorts of Asian twist on the turkey like steaming it or adding Thai sauces.

Another creative interpretation of the traditional roast turkey includes the Asian-inspired ‘Har Cheong’ Turkey (S$118 nett) with Vegetable Rice accompanied by housemade spicy Thai-style dip and scallion sour cream; shredded Turkey with Leek in Sesame Pockets (S$38); and Crispy ‘Char Siew’ Turkey with Pine Nuts Kataifi (S$38). The scrumptious Mini Turkey Shepherd's Pie with Duo Potato and Cheese Crumble (S$38) is another festive rendition of a classic English dish dreamed up by Goodwood Hotel.

Still curious about the ‘Har Cheong’ Turkey? The new Asian-inspired Christmas turkey draws on the flavours of a well-loved local dish – ‘har cheong gai’ (prawn paste chicken). This festive rendition is steeped in prawn paste over two days and skilfully fried to bring out the flavours. We think this is going to be a hit at the dinner table.

There two Christmas combo sets if you’re looking to enjoy in the comfort of your own home: Local Christmas Combo (S$158 nett; usual à la carte price S$201 nett) and the Traditional Christmas Combo (S$316 nett; usual à la carte price S$398 nett).
