Trust Katie Holmes To Get Us Excited For Autumnal Dressing In Jeans

Katie Holmes is not at Glastonbury... yet. While it seems like the world and his wife has descended on Worthy Farm, the American actor is instead doing as she does best and causing us to reconsider our sartorial propositions from the streets of Paris.

Holmes was visiting the French capital to attend the Patou SS25 show and opted to continue the house's long standing fashion style legacy (the house has employed Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gaultier and Christian Lacroix in its 110 years) by opting for pieces that placed her streets, or should we say seasons, ahead.

Despite it being a sunny June day in Paris, Holmes opted to steer away from the ubiquitous breezy floral skirt or louche linen trousers you might expect to instead opt for an outfit that will excite even the most unwilling winter-dressing enthusiast.

Denim has long been Holmes' street-style catnip and so the jeans she employed here were as perfectly executed as expected, falling full and straight to the floor before gently pooling over her sleek polished boots. But if these jeans were familiar for the actor, then the jacket was a step in a different direction that did away with summer style rules to bring in the sharper lines and fabrications more associated with the winter months.

Here, Holmes' navy jacket was a sleek addition, playing with the flash of red styling trick as her ruby collar poked out over the jacket. Holmes then connected the dots by pairing her simple plain white vest with Patou's newest bag shape in that same brilliant, gleaming shade.

It feels apt that the same woman who convinced us all of the appeal of a woollen bra several years ago should now be the one willing us to wish away the summer and the pieces it calls for in place of winter jackets and boots. Too soon? Maybe. But you can't deny the pull of a good outfit, even if it is wishing away the summer.
