Trixie Mattel Is HGTV's Newest Queen—And Fans Are Freaking Out

CODE PINK! CODE PINK! Trixie Mattel of drag icon status is coming to HGTV for a new renovation project. It's been just over a year since her first venture into televised renos with Trixie Motel, the Discovery+ reality show highlighting the star's journey as she remodels an entire hotel in Palm Springs, California, with her life partner, David Silver. Now, the drag queen and Silver are entering HGTV territory with their new project, Trixie Motel: Drag Me Home, where they'll be renovating their (Barbie) dream home and exploring the joys of cohabitation. Just like Trixie Motel, this new project will be produced by Scott Brothers Entertainment, with the Property Brothers serving as executive producers.

Mattel posted about the new adventure on her Instagram with the caption, "We’re back in renovation mode! Trixie Motel: Drag Me Home is coming to @hgtv next summer!!" Already, fans in the comments are wildly excited, with Christine Quinn, our favorite Selling Sunset "villain", commenting, "I CANT WAIT!!!!"

Unfortunately, Quinn and everyone else obsessed with this news (i.e. us) will have to wait, at least until the summer of 2024, to see what Mattel's dream home will look like. The press release promises that, when that magic time comes, our patience will be rewarded with four hour-long episodes of this limited series. The show will follow Mattel and Silver as they fully plant their roots in Los Angeles. And don't worry—you can expect it to be just as hilarious and wonderful as Mattel's last show. Loren Ruch, the Head of Content at HGTV, says of this new project, "Now we'll get to check in on the couple's progress as motel proprietors and watch them navigate the highs and lows of a personal renovation project while moving in together for the first time." That sounds like must-see TV for sure.

We trust HGTV completely to capture every hot pink and sassy detail of their home—they've basically done it before! Are we hoping to get a Katya cameo? Of course, but we're just excited to see Trixie on TV again. Wake us when summer's here!
