Treat yourself to a free tarot reading, tarot-inspired cocktails and flamin’ grub at 3 Of Cups, SG’s only tarot-themed cocktail bar

Was I over the moon when I found out there’s a tarot-themed cocktail bar with tarot-inspired cocktails in Singapore? Yes. Have I made multiple visits since my first visit? A definite yes. 3 Of Cups— aptly named after a tarot card— is the first of its kind in Singapore. I mean, if you’re looking for a mystical night out, this is one place you have to check out.

Founded in August 2021 by two friends (and kickass lady bosses), Shamini and Yogeesha, 3 of Cups, located at Haji Lane, is a brand they can safely call their own. The whimsical double-storied, 40-seater bar, also helms a kitchen where the staff churns out magical food.

To set the tone right: this article pairs well with The Smith’s How Soon Is Now? for a Charmed experience.

Over here, there are two ways to get your tarot-inspired cocktails: by ordering off the menu (to play safe) or by picking a random (tarot) card (to let fate decide your desired alcoholic beverage). My two girlfriends and I decided to go for the latter to get the full experience.

We got Justice (S$23), Strength (S$22), and The Chariot (S$24). All three cocktails came with their own unique concoction which, surprisingly, fit the themes of the individual tarot cards too.

Fun fact: the Tarot Association of Singapore uses the 3 Of Cups as their (un)official space to hold their meetings. How cool!

Apart from the cocktails that can be found on the menu, 3 Of Cups also specialises in a range of bespoke cocktails. If you’re a Thai food lover, ask the bartender for a glass of Tom Yum-infused cocktail. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Like all hungry boozers, we also decided to scan the menu and get ourselves some bites.

Seafood lovers, be sure to get their Empress Prawns (S$24) and must-have Fishy Concoction (S$20). The former is a bowl of fresh de-shelled tiger prawns in a warm and buttery cilantro broth, while the latter is a fresh dory fillet poached with lemongrass, lime leaves and chillies, and comes served in an aluminium foil only for the fish to be revealed once it arrives at your table. Talk about dedication.

What’s a night out to a magical place without a flamin‘ dessert, right? Enter the Black Magic (S$16).

Not only do 3 Of Cups deliver in their cocktails, but they also excel in their theatrics. Their signature chocolate will be lit up in (blue) flames before you’re able to consume it.

The Black Magic is one cake you can’t say no to when you’re here. Think moist, chocolaty, and warm; a comforting slice of cake if you will.

Lastly, the free Tarot Reading. Yes, you read that right.

Every Friday and Saturday, the purchase of three cocktails will get you a free tarot reading. So, if you’re down with a group of three, you can choose to share your cocktails for one person to get a reading or drink three cocktails each for all three of you to get an individual reading. It’s that simple, really.

Whether you’re a believer or a sceptic, a mortal or a witch, 3 Of Cups definitely guarantees a one-of-a-kind experience.
