Travel + Leisure Readers’ 10 Favorite Hotels in London of 2024
These are T+L readers’ favorite hotels in the British capital, according to our annual "World’s Best Awards" survey.
London is a playground for hotel lovers. You can sleep inside an abstract art sculpture, book a room at a floating hotel on the River Thames, or splurge on the suite where Kate Middleton stayed on the eve of her wedding to Prince William. The city has accommodations to suit every traveler; however, when it came to voting on their favorite hotels for this year’s survey, Travel + Leisure readers had clear favorites.
How Voting Works
Every year for our World's Best Awards survey, T+L asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe — to share their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. Over 186,000 T+L readers completed the 2024 survey. A total of more than 700,000 votes were cast across over 8,700 properties (hotels, cities, cruise lines, etc.).
Hotels were classified as either resort hotel, city hotel, inn, or safari lodge based on their location and amenities, and they were specifically rated on the criteria below:
Rooms/facilities
Location
Service
Food
Value
For each characteristic, respondents could choose a rating of excellent, above average, average, below average, or poor. The final scores are averages of these responses.

What Readers Loved
Trends come and go, but London’s best hotels eschew novelty for classic luxury. Take our No.3 winner, The Egerton House Hotel, which wowed readers with its opulent interiors, world-class art collection with works by Picasso and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and staff-to-guest ratio of 2:1. More than anything, guests loved how settled they felt at the 28-room hotel: “This is a British home away from home,” wrote one reader, while another said, “It was the best 8 nights I have ever spent in a hotel.” This year’s runner-up, Raffles London at The OWO, swung open its doors in September 2023, but it’s already become a guest favorite, in large part thanks to its rich heritage and storied history as the British government’s war office (it was a base for military operations during both world wars). “This is a fantastic addition to London’s five-star hotel scene,” said one traveler — “and the spa is a masterpiece,” added another, referencing the property’s 27,000-square-foot Guerlain urban wellness oasis. To find out which hotel nabbed the No. 1 spot on this list, we’ll have to journey across the city to the upscale Mayfair district. Read on!

From not appearing on previous surveys to ascending to this year’s No.1 spot, Flemings Mayfair has long been something of an insider’s secret. The 129-room hotel is one of the oldest family-owned luxury properties in London, winning over in-the-know travelers with its elegant yet approachable airs and newly crowned Michelin-starred Ormer Mayfair restaurant. “This is a true gem in the heart of London,” gushed one reader, who highlighted its “first-rate service” and “tasteful” interiors. The property is also a favorite among families and larger groups, thanks to its collection of two- and three-bedroom apartments, which have separate street entrances and residential comforts such as private patios and fully-appointed kitchens. “It’s superb all around,” raved one reader.
