The Traitors star Maddy Smedley lands next TV role

The Traitors star Maddy Smedley has landed her next television role, with the actor confirmed to be joining Channel 4 sitcom Big Boys.

The reality star appeared in the first series of BBC reality show The Traitors, eventually being eliminated in the penultimate episode.

She has since turned to acting, having made a guest appearance in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks as talent agent Faye Fuller. She will now continue her career in Jack Rooke's comedy, which focuses on Jack (Dylan Llewellyn) and Danny (Jon Pointing) as they navigate university life.

The second series will follow the pair in their sophomore year, with Smedley joining the cast as first-year student Sally (via RadioTimes). Other new additions to the roster include Marc Warren and Louisa Harland, with the former playing Danny's father, Dennis.

"There has been a lot of love for Big Boys from actors and comedians and people who I've really loved, who I'm desperate to try and find some good cameo roles for," said Rooke in a statement.

"I've offered like 50 cameo roles to various people who I've met over the summer who really loved it. I will be whittling that down actually for production reasons. Yes, there will be some fun things to expect."

Fans will have to wait until January to see Smedley in action on Big Boys, which is also when The Traitors returns to our screens.

Big Boys season 2 premieres in January 2024. The Traitors season 2 premieres on January 3, 2024.
