Sometimes, humor is misunderstood on the internet. That may seem like a serious understatement, but it's something Trading Spaces designer Doug Wilson has seen firsthand after receiving a flood of comments and concerns about a recent Instagram post. The image in question showed the star in a wheelchair, and in the caption, he announced that he'd be starting physical therapy next week, after costar Paige Davis unexpectedly sprinted jumped into his arms, causing an injury. Turns out, the whole thing was a joke--only many fans didn't catch on, including media outlets (like this one).

As more comments and concerns flooded in, Doug replied to his post, explaining that it was all for laughs:

"Hey everyone. Paige and I prank each other all the time, and she is like a sister to me. I was just pulling her leg (pun intended). My bum leg was not caused by Paige―and I can't wait to see what she has up her sleeve to prank me next time I see her!"

Misconception: being a famous interior designer is all fun and games. News flash, it isn't. Sometimes it's dramatic (*cough cough* HGTV's Flip or Flop post-Christina and Tarek divorce) and others...it's freaking dangerous.

Like recently when Trading Spaces host Paige Davis sprinted down the halls of a hotel room and took out costar Doug Wilson. Ok, ok, maybe it's not as crazy as it sounds, but the designer is literally in a wheelchair from the accident.

Paige, who Doug says attempted to surprise him by running down a hotel hall and jumping into his arms, ended up injuring the beloved designer instead since his "bum leg" took most of the weight and toll. "I'm starting physical therapy next week," he shared on the Instagram post of him receiving "WHEELCHAIR ASSISTANCE" from a member of the Army National Guard.

Between the incident and Paige's unconcerned "Oh no!" response that didn't give off the "I'm so sorry" message others might expect, fans are...well, not happy. Many are even @-ing her to say "Nice going," "Doesn't she know you're older this time around?," "WHAT DID YOU DO," and even "Is that all you can say? So lame!"

After throwing some shade at Joanna Gaines earlier this year and hurting fellow TV celebrity designer Doug Wilson, she might make two cult followings upset with her. Word of advice? Be careful! Fixer Upper and Trading Spaces fans are LOYAL.
